Mike Kelley (1954-2012) American Installation und Performance Artist
After expansion and reopening, former director Ann Goldstein of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam organised the first major exhibition, a travelling retrospective with about 200 works, with the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts in honour of Mike Kelley. The exhibition travelled from Amsterdam to the Centre Pompidou in Paris (May - August 2013), MoMA PS1 in New York (October 2013 - January 2014) and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (March — June 2014). Conservators attend to the artworks and provide condition reports during install and de-install, and monitor safe packing, transportation and display in order to keep risks to the artworks as small as possible. Sometimes on-site conservation treatment is necessary, like surface cleaning or consolidation.
